Western Mountain began in 1972 as Western Mountain Bus Sales, serving customers across Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada with school and commercial buses. In 1982, we became the authorized Thomas Built Buses dealer for Idaho, marking a major milestone in our growth and establishing our reputation in specialized transportation.
For more than 45 years, Western Mountain built deep expertise in transportation vehicles, equipment, and after-sale support. Owner Brad Carpenter, who has been involved with the company since 1991, continued the philosophy established by founder Vernon Carpenter—to offer the best products available and unmatched personal service that keeps customers coming back.
That philosophy shaped everything we did and remains at the heart of our business today.
Effective December 12, 2025, Western Mountain Bus Sales was acquired by Gordon Truck Centers (GTC), a respected leader in the commercial vehicle industry. This transition marked an exciting new chapter for our bus customers.
The same experienced sales, service, and support team continues to serve customers under Gordon Truck Centers, now backed by expanded resources, infrastructure, and expertise. This partnership enhances parts availability, service capacity, training, and overall support—ensuring long-term strength and continuity for fleet customers.
